People of Norwich losing trust in Truss

Only a few weeks into office, the Prime Minister, Lizz Truss, is having a very unstable start. Just this week, she made her first major U-turn by scrapping the 45p income tax rate cut.

Although Truss may be out of the country in Prague attending the first meeting of the new European Nations Club, she can’t escape the growing criticism from the public. So, what do the people of Norwich think, of this Norfolk-based PM?

Michael Loveday, who is retired, was keen to express his frustration, “she changes her mind all the time…she was in support of the EU then flipped to being against it.”

He went on to say, “I think she is appalling and will go very soon”.

Steven, 55, a taxi driver in the centre of Norwich simply said, “Bring back Boris.”

Ben, 20, a student at NUA (Norwich University of the Arts) said, “It’s very contradictory [with] what she’s done so far” referring to the U-turn on the tax rate cut.

He added, “It’s a really destructive way to run the country.”

Speaking to just a few people in Norwich, it’s fair to say, it's looking like the people of Norwich are beginning to loose trust in Truss.
